Job Opportunity: Personal Cook to the Archbishop of Suva
The Archdiocese of Suva is seeking a dedicated and skilled Cook to provide high-quality culinary services for the Archbishop of Suva at his residence in Fiji. This is a unique opportunity for a culinary professional who takes pride in their craft and wishes to serve in the Catholic Church.
Key Responsibilities
- The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning and preparation of daily nutritious and well-balanced meals, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner based on a well-planned menu.
- You will manage all aspects of meal preparation, which includes menu planning that respects dietary requirements and preferences, grocery shopping for fresh and high-quality ingredients, and an ongoing review of cooking practices in order to maintain the desired quality and quantity required.
- When required, you will also prepare special menus to cater for guests and/or official functions hosted by the Archbishop.
- You will maintain the highest standards of kitchen hygiene and food safety. Safe hygiene practices must include overall kitchen cleanliness, regular cleaning of kitchen appliances, storage devices and other types of kitchenware. Safe and proper garbage disposal must be practised.
Qualifications and Experience
We are looking for an individual with a proven track record in professional cooking, ideally with experience in a private household or high-end restaurant. You should possess a deep understanding of both local Fijian flavors and international cuisine. The ideal candidate must be punctual, discreet, and capable of working independently while maintaining a respectful and professional demeanor.
