VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT: EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT
The Archdiocese of Suva invites applications from qualified and committed Catholic professionals for the position of Executive Assistant to the Archbishop of Suva.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a senior Church-employed professional position providing high-level executive, administrative, and pastoral-support services to the Archbishop and the Archdiocesan Curia. The role serves as the primary point of coordination for the Archbishop’s office, managing communications, scheduling, documentation, and liaison with clergy, religious congregations, government bodies, and ecumenical partners.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Executive support: Manage the Archbishop’s calendar, travel, correspondence, and official communications
- Curia administration: Maintain archives, coordinate meetings, and process official documents
- Liaison & communication: Interface with clergy, parishes, government, and ecumenical bodies
- Event coordination: Oversee major Archdiocesan liturgical and pastoral events
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree or Advanced Diploma in Business Administration, Office Management, or related field
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as Executive Assistant or Senior Secretary (religious, NGO, or corporate)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and digital communication tools
- Excellent written and spoken English; iTaukei or Fiji Hindi highly advantageous
- Strong organizational skills, discretion, and ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- A practicing Catholic in good standing with deep understanding of Church structure and protocols
- Commitment to the mission of the Archdiocese and Catholic Social Teaching
