Feast of St Peter and St Paul, Apostles

June 29

Feast of Saints Peter and Paul, Apostles – June 29

The Feast of Saints Peter and Paul, celebrated on June 29, honors two foundational pillars of the Church. Saint Peter, the first pope, symbolizes unity and the pastoral leadership of the Church. Christ entrusted him with the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven (Matthew 16:18–19), making him the visible head of the Church on earth. Saint Paul, once a persecutor of Christians, became the Apostle to the Gentiles, proclaiming the Gospel far and wide through his missionary journeys and letters.

Together, they represent the universality of the Church—Peter to the Jews and Paul to the Gentiles. Though different in mission, both were united in their love for Christ and ultimately sealed their witness with martyrdom in Rome. Their feast is a powerful reminder of apostolic faith, evangelization, and the unity of the Church.
