The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Suva is seeking an experienced and dedicated professional to serve as Chief Operation Officer. This is a senior leadership position supporting the Archbishop in managing the administrative, business, and commercial affairs of the Archdiocese.
Key Responsibilities
• Support the Archbishop in managing all administrative, business, and commercial affairs of the Archdiocese.
• Facilitate the operational execution of plans, ensuring alignment with the Archdiocese’s mission and vision, and compliance with both civil and canon law, with guidance from legal advisors.
• Oversee financial operations, including the implementation of robust financial controls, budgeting, and timely financial reporting.
• Manage the property department to ensure effective stewardship and development of church properties.
• Provide leadership in the Archdiocesan Office, parishes and Archdiocesan centers (Corpus Christi, Retreat Centers, Father Law Home, Catechist Training Center, Ra Maternity.)
• Facilitate staff recruitment, retention, performance management, and professional development.
Cultivate and manage relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience
• Tertiary qualifications in finance, management, or a related discipline.
• A sound understanding of Catholic teachings and values.
• Demonstrated senior-level experience in financial management or a comparable leadership role; familiarity with charity accounting standards is advantageous.
• Proven strategic and analytical capabilities, with experience in board-level strategy development and organizational change management.
Strong leadership qualities, ethical judgment, and the ability to inspire high performance across teams.

Remuneration
A competitive salary package in the vicinity of $120,000 per annum will be negotiated based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience.
